You did it!

Thank you, Seattle!

For more than 20 years, the Family 4th at Lake Union has been about uniting our community on our nation’s birthday for a unique day of commemoration. Once again, the people of Seattle weren’t about to let anything stand between them and their fireworks celebration, this Celebration for the People, by the People.

It was an extraordinary event, and we truly hope you enjoyed the show that you made possible. Here is a listing of the 2011 fireworks score, dedicated especially to you!

  • “Happy Birthday” — Altered Images
  • “Heavy Action” — Johnny Pearson
  • “Shining Star” — Earth, Wind & Fire
  • “Smoke on the Water” — Deep Purple
  • “I Can See Clearly Now” — Johnny Nash
  • “Symphony No. 9 in D Minor” — Beethoven
  • “Fly Me to the Moon” — Frank Sinatra
  • “With a Little Help from My Friends” — Joe Cocker
  • “Firework” — Katy Perry
  • “Unchained Melody” — The Righteous Brothers
  • “God Bless America” — Kate Smith
  • “The Stars and Stripes Forever” — Arthur Fiedler and The Boston Pops

Thank you again (and again!), and we look forward to seeing you in 2012!

Why I Gave

by John Edwards, Turner Construction Co. • 2010 Donor
We are part of our community. We wanted to support the 90 year tradition of celebrating our independence not sitting back and contribute to the silence.
